Palaniswami Accuses Chief Minister Vijay of Stealing AIADMK MLA
Edappadi K Palaniswami accused Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay of inducing former AIADMK MLA V Sathyabama to defect to the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami accused Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president Vijay of inducing former AIADMK MLA V Sathyabama to defect to the ruling party. Speaking at a campaign rally in Dharapuram, Palaniswami alleged that Vijay "stolen our MLA" to strengthen the TVK government.
Palaniswami questioned the propriety of Sathyabama resigning from the AIADMK only to contest the upcoming bypoll on a TVK ticket. Sathyabama and two other MLAs resigned in May before joining the ruling TVK.
The bypoll in the Dharapuram Assembly constituency is scheduled for October 6, with results expected on October 9. In this contest, AIADMK candidate K Bhanumathi faces Sathyabama.
