US Attorney Reveals 400,000 California Voters Lack Identification

Bill Essayli, the first assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, revealed that approximately 400,000 California voters registered without providing any identifying information. Essayli stated that the state's voter registration operates on an honor system where government officials do not verify citizenship.

While California requires a driver's license or Social Security number, applicants can check boxes stating they possess neither, and the state processes the forms regardless. This vulnerability was highlighted by the arrest of Darwin Rivera Flores, a Honduran national who allegedly registered to vote by falsely attesting to U.S. citizenship under penalty of perjury. Prosecutors noted that Rivera Flores never cast a ballot.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta criticized Essayli's claims. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security stated that Homeland Security Investigations is actively investigating election fraud to ensure only American citizens elect leaders.
