David Huebner Launches Recall Effort Against Three Lincoln County Commissioners

Candidate David Huebner launched an official recall effort targeting three Lincoln County Commissioners in Nebraska following a county meeting where officials voted down a proposed moratorium on data center development. The petitions target District 1 Commissioner Joe Hewgley, District 4 Commissioner Chris Bruns, and District 5 Commissioner Jerry Woodruff.

Huebner alleges the commissioners neglected their oaths to constituents and failed to represent the will of the public regarding the growth of data centers in the region. He characterized the current development trend as a gold rush fever that must end.

Lincoln County Election Commissioner Becky Rossell confirmed the receipt of the filing, noting that a recall effort of this nature has not been attempted in the county for several years. To move the process to a vote, organizers must collect signatures from 35% of registered voters within each of the three targeted commissioners' districts.
