Imperial Brands Launches £1.5 Billion Share Buyback Program
Imperial Brands launched a £1.5 billion share buyback program and affirmed its full-year financial guidance while pivoting toward next-generation nicotine products.
Imperial Brands launched a £1.5 billion share buyback program on Thursday, with the initiative expected to conclude by October 29, 2027. The company affirmed it is on track to meet its full-year guidance for the fiscal year ending September 30, projecting group adjusted operating profit growth between 3% and 5% and low-single-digit tobacco net revenue growth.
To offset declining cigarette sales, the company is utilizing price increases and expanding its next-generation products portfolio, which includes vapes, heated tobacco, and modern orals. This strategic shift is paired with a cost-reduction plan to achieve at least £320 million in savings by 2030, supported by a planned £100 million reduction in overhead.
Imperial Brands is scheduled to release its full-year results on November 17.
