RSS Chief and Bageshwar Dham Preacher Lead Independence Day Events

Mohan Bhagwat and Dhirendra Krishna Shastri led separate Independence Day celebrations, urging citizens to strengthen national security and maintain absolute loyalty to India.

Prominent nationalist and religious leaders marked India's 80th Independence Day on August 15, 2026, with calls for national strength and patriotic devotion. Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, hoisted the national flag at the organization's headquarters in Nagpur. He urged citizens to ensure the nation remains happy, prosperous, and secure to achieve the status of a Vishwaguru, or guide to the world. Bhagwat warned that various forces are actively working to obstruct this goal and emphasized the responsibility of current generations to preserve the freedom won through sacrifices dating back to 1857.

Simultaneously, religious preacher Dhirendra Krishna Shastri celebrated the occasion at the Vedic Gurukulam within Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur. Shastri linked spiritual devotion to patriotism, asserting that followers of Lord Ram are also devoted to the nation. He praised Generation Z as the building blocks of India's future and paid tribute to the Armed Forces for maintaining the national flag. Shastri warned that individuals working against the nation would face severe consequences, describing loyalty to the country as non-negotiable.
