Ohio DOT Reopens I-75 Northbound Lanes Ahead of Schedule

The Ohio Department of Transportation reopened northbound lanes of Interstate 75 at the Lockland Split on Sunday, completing bridge and pavement work early.

The Ohio Department of Transportation reopened the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 through the Lockland Split at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, finishing the current phase of work ahead of the original Monday schedule. The weekend closure allowed crews to complete resurfacing, apply pavement markings, and perform rehabilitation on the bridge spanning Mill Creek, a railroad, Benson Street, and Shepherd Avenue.

This $12.6 million project focuses on painting expansion joints and repairing structural steel bending cracks. While this specific phase concluded early, the agency stated that maintenance work at the Lockland Split will continue through the fall of 2026. Officials noted that this maintenance project is separate from the $4.4 billion Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project located further south.
