AI Infrastructure Providers Report Growth Amid Rising Sector Demand
Vertiv, DigitalOcean, and Hut 8 are scaling power and cloud capabilities to support the artificial intelligence supercycle as industry demand accelerates.
Infrastructure providers Vertiv, DigitalOcean, and Hut 8 are reporting significant growth and capacity shifts to support the artificial intelligence supercycle. Vertiv reported 30% year-over-year top-line growth in its last quarter, driven primarily by the adoption of its liquid-cooling solutions for data centers.
DigitalOcean generated $900 million in revenue last year, providing cloud-based access to AI data centers for more than 640,000 customers. Hut 8, previously a Bitcoin mining specialist, is repurposing its existing infrastructure for AI and developing power production capabilities to manage over 1,000 megawatts of electricity. While Hut 8 saw a 45% revenue increase over 2024, it continues to report financial losses, contrasting with the profitability of Vertiv and DigitalOcean.
Market research suggests a sustained trajectory for these physical layer services. Technavio expects the worldwide AI infrastructure business to grow nearly 25% annually through 2030, while Global Market Insights projects the liquid cooling market will grow more than 18% annually through 2035.
