Uzbekistan Delegation Visits Kabul to Strengthen Economic Ties

Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev led a high-level Uzbek delegation to Kabul on Sunday to strengthen political and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. Acting on instructions from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the delegation—composed of ministers, investors, and business leaders—met with Afghan Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund at the Gulkhana Palace.

Khodjaev stated the visit intended to implement trade and investment commitments. He reported that Afghan exports to Uzbekistan totaled $150 million last year and $111 million during the early months of the current year. As a gesture of cooperation, Uzbekistan has issued 5,000 visas to Afghan citizens.

Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund affirmed that Afghanistan remains committed to expanding bilateral relations and fulfilling existing agreements between the two nations.
