Election Offices Prepare for November 3 Voting Across US
Election officials in Nebraska and South Carolina are conducting equipment tests and managing early voting processes ahead of the November 3 election.
Election officials in multiple states are finalizing preparations for the November 3 election, focusing on equipment security and voter accessibility. In Berkeley County, South Carolina, the Voter Registration and Elections Office conducted public testing of 110 ballot tabulators and marking devices on October 14. Rosie Brown, the elections director, confirmed that the machines are not connected to the internet and are sealed after testing to prevent tampering. The county is also training poll workers under South Carolina State Election Commission requirements before early voting begins on October 19.
Meanwhile, early voting is already underway in Hall County, Nebraska, where approximately 3,000 residents have cast ballots since October 5. County Election Commissioner Tracy Overstreet addressed social media rumors regarding ballot validity, explaining that state law requires two poll workers to initial each ballot before it is issued to a voter. To increase accessibility, the Hall County Election Office has implemented extended hours on select dates through November 2.
