Westlife Foodworld Reports 52 Percent Profit Drop in Q1 FY27
Westlife Foodworld reported a 52 percent decline in net profit for Q1 FY27 despite a 12 percent increase in operational revenue.
Westlife Foodworld Limited, the master franchisee for McDonald's in West and South India, reported a 52 percent year-on-year decline in net profit for the first quarter of FY27. Net profit after tax fell to approximately Rs 0.59 crore from Rs 1.23 crore in the same quarter last year, a drop the company attributed to rising input costs and operating expenses.
Despite the profit decline, the company achieved double-digit top-line growth. Consolidated operational revenue rose 11.86 percent to Rs 735.64 crore, supported by a 4.3 percent increase in same-store sales growth and the effectiveness of its Rs 99 Everyday Value platform. EBITDA increased 9 percent to Rs 92.93 crore. As of June 30, 2026, the company operates 482 restaurants across 79 cities, with digital channels contributing roughly 74 percent of sales.
Chairperson Amit Jatia credited the revenue growth to disciplined execution and a strong value platform. Under its Vision 2027 strategy, Westlife Foodworld intends to open more than 60 new McDonald's restaurants during FY27 and expand its McCafe network. Following the financial announcement, the board declared an interim dividend of Rs 0.40 per equity share, while company shares experienced intra-day volatility, dropping to Rs 472 before recovering to Rs 489.60.
