Kazakhstan to Launch 200 Industrial Enterprises by 2026

The Government of Kazakhstan plans to invest 1.7 trillion tenge to commission 200 new industrial enterprises and modernize three oil refineries by 2026.

The Government of Kazakhstan is implementing a large-scale industrial expansion involving the commissioning of approximately 200 new enterprises by the end of 2026. This initiative requires a total investment of roughly 1.7 trillion tenge, or 3.76 billion U.S. dollars. First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlybek Nalibayev reported that the manufacturing sector grew by 8.6 percent during the first nine months of 2026, with output reaching nearly 24.2 trillion tenge.

Parallel to industrial growth, the state is prioritizing energy infrastructure. Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov announced a modernization plan for the country's three oil refineries to upgrade fuel to the K5 standard and increase combined processing capacity from 18 million tonnes to 27.7 million tonnes.

Despite these expansion efforts, the energy sector faces production challenges. Oil production fell 8.3 percent year-on-year to 69.4 million tonnes in the first nine months of 2026. However, the government is maintaining its production target of 96 million tonnes for 2026 and aims to reach 99 million tonnes in 2027.
