Urban Company Seeks ₹2,500 Crore to Scale InstaHelp
Urban Company plans to raise ₹2,500 crore following a 41% revenue jump and a wider quarterly loss driven by aggressive investment in its InstaHelp business.
Urban Company reported a 41% year-on-year revenue increase to ₹537 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026. The company saw delivered orders surge 103% to 15.1 million, while Net Transaction Value grew 39% to ₹1,432 crore. Despite this growth, the company reported a wider net loss of ₹182.5 crore, compared to a ₹59 crore loss in the same period last year.
The financial results reflect a strategic trade-off. While the core business remained profitable with an adjusted EBITDA of ₹30 crore, the company incurred a ₹188 crore EBITDA loss overall due to a ₹174 crore investment in its instant home services arm, InstaHelp. Urban Company maintains a target for InstaHelp to reach adjusted EBITDA breakeven by Q3 FY28.
To sustain this expansion and counter competition from rivals Snabbit and Pronto, the board approved a capital raise of up to ₹2,500 crore through equity, debt, or convertible securities, including a qualified institutional placement. This follows a ₹1,900 crore IPO in September 2025. The company also received in-principle approval to expand its Native segment into residential air conditioners and pursue inorganic growth opportunities.
