David Crowley Wins Wisconsin Democratic Gubernatorial Primary

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley won the Democratic primary for governor of Wisconsin and now prepares to face Republican nominee Tom Tiffany in November.

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley won the Democratic primary for governor of Wisconsin on Tuesday, narrowly defeating state Representative Francesca Hong. The victory followed an unconventional campaign in which Crowley briefly withdrew from the race before re-entering 10 days later. While July polling from Marquette University Law School showed Hong leading, late-deciding voters shifted the outcome in Crowley's favor.

On Wednesday, Crowley and former Democratic candidates appeared together in Madison to project party unity. The appearance aimed to address concerns regarding divisions between the party establishment and progressives. Crowley stated that the primary election is over and that the party needs to come together for the general election.

Francesca Hong endorsed Crowley following her loss, stating her support for his effort to defeat the Republican nominee. Crowley now prepares to face Congressman Tom Tiffany in the general election this November.
