AAP Punjab Youth Wing Launches Anti-Drug Marathon in Mohali
The Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Youth Wing organized the Punjab Youth Run 2026 marathon in Mohali to promote fitness and combat drug abuse.
The Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Youth Wing organized the Punjab Youth Run 2026 marathon in Mohali on August 10, 2026. Part of the Yudh Nashian Virudh anti-drug campaign, the 5.5-kilometer race started at Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib and attracted thousands of youth, athletes, and senior citizens.
Party leaders promoted sports and physical fitness as primary tools to fight drug addiction in the state. Manjinder Singh Lalpura announced that the campaign will expand with similar marathons scheduled for Amritsar, Patiala, Bathinda, and Ludhiana.
Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer emphasized the government's financial commitment to athletics, noting that the sports budget increased from approximately ₹150 crore to ₹1,800 crore during his tenure leading the sports department. Malvinder Singh Kang praised the event for encouraging young people to adopt healthy lifestyles.
