Metlen and Petronas Sign Five-Year LNG Supply Deal

Metlen Energy & Metals signed a long-term agreement with Petronas to import 0.6 billion cubic meters of LNG annually into Greece starting in 2027.

Metlen Energy & Metals signed a long-term sale and purchase agreement with Petronas to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) into Greece. Under the five-year contract scheduled to begin in 2027, Petronas will utilize its U.K. subsidiary, Petco Trading, to deliver six LNG cargoes annually from its Atlantic portfolio, totaling approximately 0.6 billion cubic meters per year.

The partnership is designed to diversify Metlen's energy sourcing and establish a stable alternative supply to meet internal requirements and broader European demand. This move aims to strengthen energy resilience within Greece and the Southeast European region during a period of regional energy uncertainty.

For Petronas, the agreement expands its operational presence in the West of Suez markets, specifically within Europe and the Mediterranean. The deal aligns with the company's strategy to provide flexible LNG solutions to global customers while enhancing its trading capabilities in the region.
