Major US Exchanges Launch Overnight Trading in December

Nasdaq and three other major exchanges—NYSE Arca, 24X National Exchange, and Cboe EDGX—will launch an overnight trading session starting December 6. The new hours will run from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. New York time, supplementing existing regular, pre-market, and post-market trading periods.

This shift toward around-the-clock trading aims to capture increasing demand from foreign investors. The exchanges are moving to compete with the 24/7 nature of cryptocurrency trading and prediction markets, which have challenged traditional Wall Street operating schedules.
