Specsavers Pays 12 Million Pound Dividend After Profit Surge

Specsavers paid a 12 million pound dividend to its parent company following a 25 percent increase in annual pre-tax profits.

Specsavers paid a 12 million pound dividend to its parent company, Specsavers International Healthcare Limited, after reporting a significant increase in annual earnings. For the year ending in February, the optician group reported pre-tax profits of 429.7 million pounds, representing a rise of more than 25 percent, while sales grew 7 percent to 4.3 billion pounds.

This payment marks the resumption of dividends to the parent company, which is controlled by founders Doug and Dame Mary Perkins, following a one-year pause caused by economic and political uncertainty. The company stated that the return to historic dividend levels reflects the strength of the business and confidence in its future performance.

In addition to the parent company payment, the group distributed nearly 258 million pounds to its independent shop owners, an increase from 239 million pounds the previous year. Specsavers attributed its profit growth to flat costs and the reduction of non-value add activities, which helped offset inflationary pressures on supplier costs, utilities, and wages.
