Global Corporations Integrate Chinese AI Into Industrial Operations

Multinational corporations are increasingly integrating Chinese artificial intelligence into their global operations to drive digital transformation and industrial efficiency. This shift follows a July action plan from the National Development and Reform Commission to strengthen international AI collaboration, alongside local initiatives in Shanghai and Shenzhen to attract foreign-funded R&D centers focused on embodied intelligence and intelligent terminals.

Siemens AG debuted the Eigen Engineer Agent for industrial automation at the 2026 World AI Conference in Shanghai on July 18. The agent has already reduced programming and debugging time by approximately 30 percent at a CASMT automation facility in Changzhou. Vasi Philomin, Executive Vice President and Head of Data and AI at Siemens AG, characterized China as fertile ground for AI growth.

Other major firms have launched similar initiatives. L'Oréal S.A. deployed AI-powered packaging and sorting systems in Suzhou and Shanghai, with CEO of L'Oréal China Vincent Boinay identifying the local AI ecosystem as the driver for the company's push. Additionally, PwC China launched an AI Innovation Center in Shanghai in early August 2026 to assist clients with AI adoption and digital transformation.
