Laura Gillen Wins Reelection to New York's 4th District

Democratic Representative Laura Gillen defeated Republican Jeanine Driscoll to secure a second term representing New York's 4th Congressional District.

Democratic U.S. Representative Laura Gillen won reelection to a second term representing New York's 4th Congressional District. Unofficial early returns from the Nassau County Board of Elections show Gillen received 93,041 votes, or 57.9 percent, defeating Republican challenger Jeanine Driscoll, who received 67,231 votes, or 41.8 percent.

The campaign centered on affordability, taxes, and public safety. Gillen campaigned on securing federal funding for Nassau County, lowering the cost of living, and restoring the state and local tax deduction. Following her victory, Gillen stated that voters chose common sense over chaos and predicted Democrats would regain control of both the House and the Senate.

Jeanine Driscoll, the receiver of taxes for the town of Hempstead, acknowledged her loss but stated she would continue to advocate for tax relief and cost reductions for residents through her municipal role.
