Cielo S.A. Partners With Amdocs Ltd. to Modernize Brazil Payment Terminals

The Brazilian payment services provider Cielo S.A. has partnered with Amdocs Ltd. to modernize its nationwide payment terminal connectivity platform. Beginning August 5, 2026, Cielo S.A. will transition from a traditional SIM-based model to a software-defined connectivity model powered by the Amdocs Remote eSIM Manager.

This new system enables secure remote provisioning and lifecycle management of connectivity profiles. The technology allows payment terminals to dynamically switch between mobile network operators, a move designed to prevent transaction interruptions and increase operational flexibility.

According to Carlos Alves, the shift to resilient and intelligent connectivity is essential for maintaining seamless experiences for consumers and merchants as digital payments expand throughout Brazil. Anthony Goonetilleke noted that seamless connectivity serves as the foundation for daily activities ranging from entertainment to commerce transactions.
