Israeli Airstrikes Kill Two Palestinians Amid Fragile Gaza Ceasefire

Israeli airstrikes killed at least two Palestinians and wounded several others on Monday in two separate attacks within the Gaza Strip. One strike targeted a rooftop in Gaza City, killing a woman and wounding her husband. A second strike in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed another woman, an operation the Israeli military stated targeted a militant.

These attacks occur during a fragile US-brokered ceasefire that has seen limited progress regarding the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the disarmament of Hamas. Both Israel and Hamas continue to trade blame for violations of the agreement.

Health officials in Gaza report that at least 1,400 Palestinians, primarily civilians, have been killed since the ceasefire took effect. The Israeli military reports the deaths of four soldiers during the same period.
