AMD Reports Record $13.4 Billion Third-Quarter Revenue
Advanced Micro Devices reported record third-quarter revenue of $13.4 billion, driven by a surge in data center sales and AI chip demand.
Advanced Micro Devices reported record third-quarter revenue of $13.4 billion, representing a 45% increase from the previous year. The growth exceeded analyst expectations and was driven primarily by the Data Center segment, where revenue nearly doubled to $8.5 billion. This surge resulted from the ramp of Instinct MI450 GPUs and strong demand for EPYC server processors.
Adjusted earnings reached $2.09 per share, beating consensus estimates. While the data center business flourished, the company saw a 40% decline in Gaming revenue, which fell to $773 million. AMD forecast fourth-quarter revenue of approximately $17 billion, citing the scaling of Venice processors and Helios rack-scale systems currently used by Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI.
To expand its model research and inference silicon capabilities, the company announced agreements to acquire World Labs and Taalas. CEO Lisa Su noted that the company delivered a record quarter with revenue exceeding the high end of guidance.
