Ben Cline Wins Fifth Term in Virginia's 6th District
Republican Ben Cline won reelection to a fifth term in Virginia's 6th Congressional District, defeating Democratic challenger Beth Macy.
Republican incumbent Ben Cline won reelection to a fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives for Virginia's 6th Congressional District. Unofficial results show Cline receiving 117,245 votes, or 55.88%, while Democratic challenger Beth Macy received 92,117 votes, or 43.91%.
Cline's margin of victory was approximately 12 percentage points lower than his 2024 win. The election followed a period of legal instability regarding the district's boundaries; the Supreme Court of Virginia voided an April redistricting referendum in May, which returned the district to a map favoring Republicans.
In other Virginia contests, Democratic incumbent Mark Warner won a fourth term to the U.S. Senate, defeating Republican Bert Mizusawa. Meanwhile, in Maryland's 6th Congressional District, incumbent Representative April McClain-Delaney is the projected winner for a second term after defeating Republican challenger Robin Ficker.
