Apple to Launch iPhone Ultra Foldable for $2,000

Apple is expected to unveil its first foldable smartphone, rumored to be called the iPhone Ultra, around September 9 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The book-style device features a 5.5-inch cover display that expands into an inner screen measuring between 7.7 and 7.8 inches. Internal and external testers have praised the device's form factor, pocketability, and the durability of its hinge.

To maintain a slim profile, the company is expected to replace Face ID with a Touch ID sensor integrated into the power button and remove the physical SIM slot in favor of eSIM. Technical specifications reportedly include an A20 Pro processor, 12GB of memory, and a dual-cell battery. The device will run iOS 27, which is designed to support adaptive layouts and iPad-style multitasking.

The iPhone Ultra will feature a dual rear camera system with a 48MP primary sensor and an ultrawide lens, though it will omit the telephoto lens found in other flagship models. Pricing is expected to start at approximately $2,000, potentially reaching $2,500 for higher storage configurations. Samsung Display has already begun producing the OLED panels for the device.
