BJP Sets Roadmap for 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party convened a state working committee meeting in Lucknow to strategize for a third consecutive term in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party held a state working committee meeting in Lucknow on October 30, 2026, to establish an organizational and ideological roadmap for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the gathering, providing strategic guidance to party workers to secure an absolute majority for a third consecutive term.

During the meeting, party leadership pledged to implement the Uniform Civil Code in Uttar Pradesh if they return to power. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak expressed confidence in a resounding victory and defended the party's commitment to the Constitution in response to criticisms from the INDIA bloc. Other leaders, including state ministers Anil Rajbhar and Danish Azad Ansari, attributed the party's anticipated success to the double-engine governance model under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Party leaders contrasted their tenure with the previous Samajwadi Party government, which Arun Singh described as a "dark chapter" characterized by "jungle raj, terrorism, separatism, and an anti-development stance." Additionally, senior leader Radha Mohan Das Agarwal criticized Rahul Gandhi for scheduling an INDIA bloc rally on November 1, alleging the date is insensitive due to the historical massacre of thousands of Sikhs.
