Apple to Launch Foldable iPhone Ultra Next Week

Apple is expected to announce its first foldable smartphone, potentially named the iPhone Ultra, next week. The device is predicted to feature a passport-style form factor with a 5.5-inch cover display, a 7.8-inch Flexible AMOLED main display, and an A20 Pro 2-nanometer chip.

Industry analysts from IDC and Smart Analytics Global suggest the launch will reverse a decline in the foldable phone market, turning it into the industry's fastest-growing segment. IDC forecasts that Apple will ship over 17 million units by 2027, capturing approximately 40% of the global market share and challenging the current dominance of Samsung and Huawei.

The device will likely carry a premium price tag exceeding $2,000, with some estimates placing the average selling price above $2,550. Due to manufacturing complexities, the initial launch may be limited to selected major markets.
