Nvidia Returns $26 Billion to Shareholders in Second Quarter

Nvidia returned $26 billion to shareholders through dividends and buybacks in its fiscal second quarter, while agreeing to acquire AI platform Hugging Face.

Nvidia Inc. returned approximately $26 billion to shareholders through share repurchases and cash dividends in its fiscal second quarter of 2027, which ended July 26. This payout exceeded the $21.3 billion in free cash flow generated during the period and marked a sharp increase from the $10 billion returned in the same quarter the previous year.

Total returns for the first half of the fiscal year surpassed $45 billion, already exceeding the total for all of fiscal 2026. In May, the company increased its quarterly dividend from $0.01 to $0.25 per share and approved an additional $80 billion for share repurchases.

Alongside these shareholder returns, the company continues to invest in expansion. Nvidia spent over $42 billion on equity stakes in the first half of the year and agreed to acquire the AI platform Hugging Face for approximately $12.9 billion in early September.
