Gulf Investment Agencies Pitch Economic Reforms to UK Investors

Investment agencies from Kuwait, Oman, and Sharjah promoted regional connectivity and economic reforms to British investors during the UK-GCC Strategic Dialogue in London.

Investment agencies from Kuwait, Oman, and Sharjah pitched economic reforms and regional connectivity to British investors during the UK-GCC Strategic Dialogue at London’s Guildhall on October 20, 2026. The event, organized by The Business Year under the auspices of the GCC General Secretariat, gathered approximately 350 government officials and global investors to discuss cooperation in energy, technology, infrastructure, and financial services.

Representatives emphasized the resilience of Gulf economies following the signing of the UK-GCC Free Trade Agreement earlier this year. Invest in Oman and the Muscat Stock Exchange highlighted opportunities aligned with Oman Vision 2040, presenting the sultanate as a strategic production and export platform connecting Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The dialogue focused on expanding international investment flows and leveraging British industrial expertise to develop logistics and clean energy sectors.

Other regional actors focused on complementary growth. The Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority highlighted business continuity and the goals of the Kuwait 2035 vision, while Invest in Sharjah promoted its dual-coast port infrastructure. Mohamed Juma Al-Musharrkh of Invest in Sharjah argued that GCC economies should complement rather than compete with one another to attract foreign direct investment in advanced manufacturing and logistics.
