Alphabet Reports Record 112 Billion Dollar Second Quarter Net Income

Alphabet Inc. reported a record 112 billion dollar net income for the second quarter, driven by massive valuation gains from its SpaceX investment.

Alphabet Inc. reported a record-breaking net income of 112 billion dollars for the second quarter, accompanied by 120 billion dollars in revenue. This exceptional profit was driven largely by unrealized investment gains from Space Exploration Technologies Corp., with Alphabet's position in the company totaling 94.1 billion dollars as of June 30.

Because accounting rules require these unrealized gains to be reported as net income, the company's total profit remains subject to fluctuations based on SpaceX stock performance. However, excluding these specific investment gains, Alphabet's operating income grew by 30 percent year over year.

The company's Google Cloud division also demonstrated significant expansion. Revenue for the division increased 82 percent year over year, while achieving an operating margin of 35.6 percent.
