SoundHound AI Acquires LivePerson to Expand Enterprise Reach

SoundHound AI completed the acquisition of LivePerson on September 4, 2026. The merger expands the company's enterprise reach to include 25 of the Fortune 100 companies and has led management to increase 2027 revenue projections to between $350 million and $400 million.

Financial performance remains mixed. The company reported second-quarter revenue growth of 45% year-over-year to $61.9 million, with fiscal 2026 revenue expected to range between $230 million and $260 million. However, shares have declined nearly 71% from an October 2025 high of $22.17.

Operational challenges persist, including a $60 million cash burn during the first half of fiscal 2026. Additionally, LivePerson reported a 12% year-over-year revenue decline in the second quarter, which the company attributed to customer cancellations and downsells.
