Microsoft Launches Copilot Health AI Assistant for US Users

Microsoft Corporation launched Copilot Health on March 12, 2026, introducing a dedicated AI health assistant integrated into its consumer Copilot platform. The tool aggregates data from over 50 wearable devices and platforms, including Apple Health, Fitbit, and Oura Ring, while accessing medical records from more than 50,000 US healthcare providers via HealthEx and lab results through Function Health.

Developed with a panel of over 230 physicians from 24 countries, the service provides personalized medical summaries and actionable insights to help patients prepare for provider visits. Microsoft officials emphasized that the tool is designed to support and guide consumers rather than provide final diagnoses or replace professional clinical advice. The launch follows similar healthcare AI initiatives from competitors including Amazon, OpenAI, and Anthropic.

To address privacy concerns, Microsoft encrypts health data, segregates it from other chatbot interactions, and prohibits the use of this data for training AI models. Copilot Health is currently rolling out to users in the United States via a waitlist and invitations.
