Apple Increases iPhone Duo Production by 30% After Sellout

Apple Inc. requested a 30% production increase for the iPhone Duo after the company's first foldable phone sold out immediately following its global launch.

Apple Inc. requested that its suppliers increase production and orders for the iPhone Duo by 30% to address strong demand for its first foldable phone. The device sold out almost immediately after its global launch on October 23, 2026, with initial sales driven primarily by pre-orders.

Due to insufficient initial stock, the company does not expect a second wave of shipments until January 22. The surge in demand has led to revised shipment projections for the current year, moving from an initial estimate of 6 million units to between 8 million and 10 million units. Apple expects volume to reach 33 million units by 2027.

The iPhone Duo is positioned at a higher price point than similar foldable devices offered by competitors Samsung and Google. Manufacturing for the device is handled by Hon Hai Precision Industry, while TSMC produces the core processor.
