Cloudflare Launches Identity and Payment Tools for AI Agents

Cloudflare Inc. launched Cloudflare Wallets and cloudflare.pay to enable AI agents to verify identities and execute financial transactions autonomously. This suite of tools is designed for a bot-first internet where AI agents manage high-volume, piecemeal transactions for humans and organizations.

The system introduces cloudflare.id, a permanent web address used as a unique identifier for specific agents. To handle commerce, users can establish Virtual Wallets funded by stablecoins. These wallets include safety guardrails, such as approved merchant whitelists, spending caps, and maximum transaction limits.

Cloudflare also released a Monetization Gateway and communication tools for merchants to interact with customer agents. The company asserts that these tools are necessary as the internet shifts toward agentic commerce, requiring new business models to support autonomous digital interactions.
