Mercedes-Benz Unveils 2028 GLA-Class SUV with Electric Options

Mercedes-Benz Group AG has unveiled the 2028 GLA-Class, the automaker's smallest SUV, now offering both all-electric and hybrid powertrain options. The new model is built on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), which provides a larger interior and an increased wheelbase compared to the previous generation. Electric versions include a 107-litre front trunk and two variants: the 268-hp GLA 250+ and the 349-hp GLA 350 4MATIC, both utilizing an 85-kWh battery with a WLTP range of 408 miles.

The hybrid model features a 48-volt system paired with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo engine. Interior enhancements include a generative AI-powered Virtual Assistant and the optional MBUX Superscreen. Exterior updates consist of an illuminated grille and a panoramic sunroof with an optional opaque switch.

Orders are currently open in select markets with pricing starting at £45,400. Vehicles are expected to arrive at United States dealerships in the second half of 2027.
