Democrat Matt Little Wins Minnesota 2nd Congressional District

Democrat Matt Little defeated Republican State Senator Eric Pratt to win Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District seat with 57% of the vote.

Matt Little won the election for Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District on Tuesday, securing 57% of the vote against Republican State Senator Eric Pratt, who received 43%. The results were finalized with 258 of 260 precincts counted.

Little, a former state senator and former mayor of Lakeville, ran on a progressive platform. His campaign focused on implementing Medicare for All, regulating data centers and artificial intelligence, and removing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from the state. He also criticized U.S. involvement in Iran and characterized Israel's war in Gaza as genocide.

Eric Pratt, a state senator since 2012, campaigned as a pragmatic Republican. His platform emphasized bipartisan cooperation, support for farmers, and the reduction of home-building costs. The seat was vacated by U.S. Representative Angie Craig, who had lost the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate.
