Mark Zuckerberg Launches Muse AI Wearable and Smart Glasses
Mark Zuckerberg introduced the Muse AI charm and camera-less smart glasses in San Francisco, shifting Meta's wearable strategy toward anthropomorphic design.
Mark Zuckerberg launched the Muse charm in San Francisco this week, a wearable AI assistant featuring an animated avatar on a 2-inch screen. The device attaches to keychains or bags and handles live conversations, email management, travel bookings, and shopping tasks.
Alongside the Muse, Meta introduced new smart glasses that lack an integrated camera. Instead, recording capabilities are shifted to the Muse charm worn around the neck, a design change implemented following backlash against previous Meta smart glasses models.
The Muse is scheduled for release in December. The product represents a strategic move toward cute technology, utilizing Japanese kawaii aesthetics to encourage user trust and anthropomorphism. This design approach aims to ease social friction regarding data collection and surveillance.
