Ifo Local Government Demands Removal of Lagos State Signpost
Kusimo Idris Olalekan urged the Lagos State Government to remove a welcome signpost erected in a disputed boundary area along the Yakoyo–Ojodu Road.
The Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Kusimo Idris Olalekan, has called on the Lagos State Government to intervene after the Chairman of Ojodu Local Government installed a "Welcome to Lagos State" signpost in a contested area along the Yakoyo–Ojodu Road.
Ifo Local Government asserts that the site falls within the territorial jurisdiction of Ogun State. The dispute emerged following the construction of a road in the area by the Ogun State Government under Governor Dapo Abiodun. Olalekan stated that the signpost creates confusion for residents and road users.
To resolve the conflict and maintain cordial relations between the neighboring states, Olalekan urged an objective determination of the boundary. He requested that officials use survey coordinates and official records to establish the correct border and prevent further tension.
