Nissan Launches 2027 Leaf Nismo Performance EV in Japan

Nissan released the 2027 Leaf Nismo in Japan, featuring chassis and aesthetic upgrades while maintaining the standard electric powertrain.

Nissan launched the 2027 Leaf Nismo in Japan as the performance flagship of its electric crossover range. The new model introduces an aggressive body kit characterized by a ducktail spoiler and a twin blade front splitter, complemented by 19-inch Enkei alloy wheels.

Technical enhancements focus on handling rather than power. The vehicle features updated springs, anti-roll bars, and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires, but it retains the standard Leaf powertrain. Customers can choose between a 53 kWh battery producing 174 hp or a 75 kWh battery producing 214 hp. In a departure from higher-tier trims, the Nismo utilizes base model taillights instead of the LED versions found on Autech or Platinum+ models.

Japanese pricing ranges from ¥6,601,100 ($40,500) up to ¥7,227,000 ($44,400) for the top B7 trim featuring Recaro seats. The company has not confirmed if the model will be released in North America or Europe. This launch aligns with a broader strategy to expand the Nismo lineup to 10 models by 2028.
