ScottishPower Renewables awarded a contract to R G Carter to build a £9 million offshore windfarm base in Lowestoft as part of a larger regional investment.
ScottishPower Renewables awarded a design and build contract to R G Carter to construct a £9 million offshore windfarm base in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The project is a component of a broader £100 million investment in the East Anglia offshore wind programme.
The new 6,000-square-metre facility will be located on the former RJ Pryce site on Trinity Road. Tru Demolition is currently performing demolition work at the site to prepare for construction. The finished base will include a three-storey building housing a warehouse, office space, a marine co-ordination centre, and a control room.
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027. Once complete, the facility is expected to accommodate approximately 100 people, complementing the existing East Anglia ONE operations and maintenance base.
