AMD Reports 107% Data Center Revenue Growth and AI Efficiency Gains
Advanced Micro Devices reports a 107% surge in data center revenue and a fourfold increase in AI energy efficiency, exceeding its interim targets.
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. reported a 107% year-over-year increase in data center revenue for the second quarter, totaling $6.7 billion. The company projects an annual run rate of $25 billion for 2026 and expects to significantly exceed its previous annual revenue growth target of 35% and its earnings per share estimate of $20.00. Management estimates the total AI compute market will reach $2 trillion by 2030 with a long-term annual growth rate of 40%.
On the technical front, the company achieved an estimated fourfold increase in AI energy efficiency by mid-2026, surpassing its interim goal. This progress supports a broader target of a 20-fold increase in rack-scale energy efficiency for AI training and inference by 2030. The company attributes these gains to a system-level approach integrating compute silicon, memory, interconnects, software, and rack design.
In its 2025-26 Corporate Responsibility Report, the company noted a 30% reduction in operational greenhouse gas emissions from 2020 to 2025, with 58% of global electricity now sourced from renewables. Aristotle Capital Management also identified the company as a key holding in its Q2 2026 investor letter, citing its position in high-performance and adaptive computing.
