Adnoc to Bypass Strait of Hormuz With New Pipeline
Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. expects to deliver oil via a new bypass pipeline to Fujairah in early 2027 to avoid the Strait of Hormuz.
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company informed several Asian refiners that it expects to begin delivering oil from offshore fields via a new bypass pipeline in early 2027. The conduit will transport Upper Zakum crude from fields in the Persian Gulf directly to the Fujairah terminal.
This infrastructure allows the company to avoid the Strait of Hormuz, a critical but often disrupted waterway. The project follows a May announcement in which the company stated that construction was being accelerated to ensure the pipeline is ready by next year.
