China Criticizes EU Protectionist Measures During Beijing Press Conference

Lin Weilong of China's Ministry of Commerce stated that European Union protectionist measures are undermining Chinese companies' confidence in cooperating with the bloc.

Lin Weilong, head of the policy research department of China's Ministry of Commerce, stated on Tuesday that protectionist measures recently implemented by the European Union are seriously undermining the confidence of Chinese companies in cooperating with the bloc.

Speaking at a press conference hosted by the State Council Information Office in Beijing, Lin acknowledged that differences and frictions are inevitable given the enormous scale of China-EU cooperation. He argued that such frictions should not be used as a justification for groundless accusations, restrictions, or pressure that undermine practical cooperation.

Lin asserted that China remains ready to work with the European Union to resolve these issues and properly handle differences through dialogue and consultation.
