The original operation involved the Israeli Air Force dropping bunker-buster bombs on Nasrallah's bunker in the Dahiyeh suburb. Reports on the scale of the attack varied, with some officials citing at least a dozen 2,000-pound bombs and others claiming over 80 bombs were used. The anniversary coincided with the release of previously unaired footage of Nasrallah by the Iranian outlet Press TV.
Simultaneously, Hezbollah held commemorations across Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran. The primary ceremony took place at Nasrallah's burial site in Beirut's Dahiyeh district, with further gatherings in the Bekaa Valley and Deir Qanoun al-Nahr. During these events, Hezbollah successor Naim Qassem vowed to maintain the path of resistance against Israel and the United States. Qassem criticized the Lebanese government for surrendering to foreign demands and urged the president to stop direct negotiations with Israel, arguing that any Israeli withdrawal would be the result of resistance rather than diplomacy.
