Pushkar Singh Dhami Outlines Youth and Welfare Reforms in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a series of high-level engagements across Haridwar and Dehradun on August 2, 2026, focusing on youth development and administrative reform. At Gurukul Kangri University, Dhami addressed the Yuva Samvad programme, reporting a 4.4 percent decline in unemployment and a 44 percent reverse migration rate. He cited the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme and New Tourism Policy as primary drivers of job creation and noted that the government has jailed over 100 examination mafias to ensure academic integrity.

Continuing his itinerary in Dehradun, Dhami met with appointed public representatives, known as Dayitvadharis, at Mukhya Sevak Sadan. He urged these officials to act as a bridge between the administration and the citizenry to ensure welfare schemes reach the grassroots level and to accelerate the state's path toward self-reliance.

Later that day, Dhami attended a Beneficiary Conference organized by the Minority Morcha. He highlighted the replacement of the Uttarakhand Madrasa Board with the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority to provide modern, employment-oriented education. Additionally, he referenced the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, describing it as a necessary step for the dignity and justice of women. Throughout the day, he emphasized a commitment to inclusive development and providing equal opportunities to all sections of society regardless of discrimination.
