Capcom Q1 Net Profit Jumps 69% on Strong Software Sales

Capcom Co. reported a 69.2% increase in first-quarter net profit, driven by strong sales of Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata.

Capcom Co. reported a significant surge in financial results for the first quarter ending June 30, 2026. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent rose 69.2% to 29.16 billion yen, while net sales increased 54.7% to 70.41 billion yen. Operating profit grew 66.9% to 41.05 billion yen, and ordinary profit climbed 81.1% to 41.45 billion yen.

The growth was primarily driven by software sales totaling 23.81 million units. Resident Evil Requiem sold over 8 million copies, while Pragmata reached 2.51 million sales. This success propelled the Resident Evil series to over 213 million unit sales, surpassing the Final Fantasy series to become the best-selling Japanese third-party game series.

For the full fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company forecasts net sales of 210.0 billion yen, a 7.5% year-on-year increase, and projects net profit to reach 58.0 billion yen, up 6.3%. To maintain this momentum, the company plans to release Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen later this year and aims to launch a new Resident Evil title annually. Following the report, Capcom shares closed at 3,529 yen on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, a 0.28% increase.
