Incumbents Lead Early Returns in Concord and Portland Elections

Incumbent city council members in Concord and Portland hold early leads in their respective reelection bids according to unofficial vote returns.

Early election returns show incumbent officials leading in several city council races across Concord and Portland. In Concord, Laura Hoffmeister leads the District 1 race with 53.35% of the vote, while Mayor Laura Nakamura holds a 61.74% lead in District 5. The race for the open District 3 seat remains competitive, with Robyn Kuslits holding a slight lead at 28.46%.

Hoffmeister noted that ballots are still being counted and every one deserves to be counted. The winning officials in Concord will manage the redevelopment of the Concord Naval Weapons Station, a project slated to add over 12,000 homes to the 2,225-acre site.

In Portland, incumbents are also leading in unofficial results for District 3 and District 4. In District 3, Tiffany Koyama Lane, Angelita Morillo, and Steve Novick are the top three candidates among 21 contestants. In District 4, incumbents Olivia Clark, Mitch Green, and Eric Zimmerman lead the ranked-choice race. Each of these districts elects three winners to the council.
