India Residential Housing Sales Rise 3% in Q3 2026

Residential housing sales across seven major Indian cities rose 3% year-on-year to approximately 100,220 units in the third quarter of 2026, according to a report by Anarock. Total sales value increased 2% to ₹1.55 lakh crore, with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Bengaluru together accounting for 48% of all sales. New housing supply grew 18% annually to 114,320 units, with the ₹80 lakh to ₹1.5 crore price segment representing the largest share at 34%.
Average residential prices across these cities grew by 7%, led by a 12% annual increase in Delhi-NCR. While Mumbai recorded the highest sales and supply volumes, Hyderabad saw the largest yearly jump in sales at 15% and a 120% increase in new supply. However, data from PropEquity contradicts the Anarock findings, reporting a 6% decline in total sales to 1.03 lakh units for the same period.
Anuj Puri of Anarock expects the upcoming festive season to further boost demand, though he anticipates more measured growth moving forward due to increasing affordability concerns.
