Yogi Adityanath Pledges 100,000 Government Jobs for Uttar Pradesh Youth

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the Uttar Pradesh government will distribute government appointment letters to 100,000 youth over the next six months. Speaking at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, Adityanath stated that these letters will be issued in weekly batches. During the event, he handed over appointment letters to 126 Mandi Secretaries and 3,446 Technical Assistants recruited through the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission under Mission Rozgar.

Adityanath claimed his administration has provided more than 9.30 lakh government jobs over the last nine years through a transparent process. He contrasted this with the pre-2017 recruitment system, which he alleged was plagued by corruption, extortion, and a cheating mafia. To streamline future hiring, he directed recruitment boards to declare results within six months of a requisition. He also noted that 5,000 individuals from the state have been sent to Israel for work, with further interest from Japan and Germany.

Opposition leaders from the Congress and Samajwadi Party criticized the timing of the announcement. They suggested the move is a strategic attempt to address youth discontent ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. While the Chief Minister framed the initiative as part of a Nation First philosophy, critics argued that ceremonial distributions do not necessarily reflect actual employment creation.
