Oxfordshire County Council Issues Multiple Temporary Road Closures

Oxfordshire County Council implemented a series of road and footpath closures across the county to facilitate utility repairs and infrastructure improvement works.

The Oxfordshire County Council issued multiple temporary road closures and traffic restrictions across the county to facilitate various infrastructure improvement works. Authorized under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, these measures include full road closures for resurfacing and electrical maintenance, as well as speed limit reductions in Marsh Baldon.

Utility projects are driving several of the restrictions. Thames Water is conducting valve installations and new connections in Lewknor and Wallingford, while Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is performing electrical maintenance in Grove. Other closures involve gas main replacements and sewer repairs in Little Milton, Abingdon, and Grove, alongside footpath closures in Wantage and Wallingford.

Some restrictions are scheduled as night-time only, while other closures will remain in place for several weeks or months. Residents are advised to follow signed alternative routes and consult the council's Public Notice Portal for detailed updates.
