Arvind Kejriwal Demands CCTV and Safety Reforms in Delhi

Arvind Kejriwal, national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, condemned the BJP-led government on Tuesday for its failure to ensure women's safety in Delhi. The criticism follows the alleged gangrape of a 17-year-old girl at Aastha Kunj Park and reports of sexual harassment near Hakikat Park, which sparked protests by Delhi University students starting September 23.

Kejriwal challenged the government's response, which included implementing online classes and issuing advisories for women to avoid going out at night. He questioned why restrictions were imposed only on girls and asserted that women are free citizens with fundamental rights to security.

To address the crisis, Kejriwal demanded the installation of a real-time CCTV network, the repair of streetlights, and the deployment of women police officers within colleges. He accused the administration of incompetence and claimed the government protects perpetrators of sexual violence if they join the ruling party.
